“I want to let you know how impressed I was with Hotel Madera. Not only was the room wonderful, with impressive contemporary decor and every comfort I needed, but the service was impeccable -- flawless. Victor at the front desk was beyond awesome, and everyone was efficient and eager to please. I travel a fair amount for my work, and I wish every hotel were more like the Madera. I felt warmly welcomed, personally, and had a sense of being well taken care of. For any traveler, this is important, but for a businesswoman traveling alone, it's like an oasis in the desert. Although I also liked the Kimpton Hotel in San Francisco, it cannot compare with Hotel Madera, which was extraordinary. Please extend my thanks to the staff at the Madera and my congratulations for having such a lovely hotel. I'll have to remember to post a rave review at tripadvisor.com, a site I often check for reviews.”

“My biggest disappointment with my stay at the Hotel Madera was that it was only for one night. We came to DC to pick up a son who spent the week in Northern Virginia. My wife and I absolutely loved your hotel! Our room, #502, reminded us of a film set, with its funky ambiance and sassy furnishings. The staff, starting with Ken and Michelle (at the front desk) were always pleasant, and we enjoyed the company of Liz and Kimmie at the Firefly Saturday night so much that we ate dinner at the bar. The oyster appetizer is deluxe! The location was terrific, and we were able to wander on foot to both Dupont Circle and Georgetown, although we really enjoyed the hotel so much we didn't want to leave, as we had less than 24-hours in town. My wife Julie, now a senior pharma sales rep, worked in sales at a boutique hotel for a year during her transition from OR nurse to drug rep, and was very much impressed with your operation. I am a long-time travel and food writer who now works in PR in the CVB business, so both of us have been around a lot, and I can assure you we'll come back to your hotel again, and have been singing your praises since we left on Sunday. Next time I want to try the 10th floor for the view. Congratulations to your team for a spectacular job, well done.”

“Fabulous hotel. Couldn't fault it. Wonderful staff that couldn't be more helpful and welcoming. Good location. Good restaurant and bar. Fantastic rooms (stayed in a twin) - VERY large, well equipped, comfy beds, nice decor, good toiletries, the most extensive minibar I have seen in a long time, quiet, kept meticulously clean. Enjoyed the free wine hour in the evening. What more could you want? I will definitely return.”

“We visited Hotel Madera in August when we dropped our son off at school. We stayed a few extra days just to be local in case something came up but also to play tourist. I wanted something convenient to the Metro, walking distance to restaurants and stores and not far from campus, and selected the Madera. We couldn't have been happier with our stay. All the staff was helpful and friendly, from the front desk to the car park to the restaurant wait staff. By the 2nd day we were greeted by name when we walked through the front door! And even though we didn't bring our dog it was nice to see that water bowl right inside the front door of the hotel. Whether it was help with restaurant recommendations or reservations, walking or metro directions, or asking if we were planning to come down for the wine reception, we were always accommodated. Our room was spacious and spotless and I loved the walk-in shower. The hotel is in a quiet, mainly residential area, 2-3 blocks from the Metro and walking distance to restaurants and shopping. I just can't say enough and will definitely return to the Madera.”

“This is my first night of a five night stay and it is the best. From the moment I walked in this afternoon I have felt nothing but warm hospitality, excellent customer service, and a flawless room. I have just sat for two hours on my balcony enjoying a bottle of wine and enjoying being outdoors watching the neighborhood from my 8th floor room. The room is large, elegantly decorated with top quality furnishings and linen, and is clean and quiet. The neighborhood is great, easy to access the Metro, and wonderful restaurant options are within easy walking distance. Christopher checked me in and was very helpful and pleasant. He gave me directions to places I wanted to go and was completely friendly and helpful. The rest of the staff I have encountered in the hallways has been professional, polite, and friendly. Though I am here for work, I feel like I'm on a long awaited and needed vacation. I will be back. I've stayed at 3 other Kimpton Hotels in this city, and multiple others across the country, but this is by far the best. I'm looking forward to getting off work each day and getting back here. Room 802 is prime!”
